No, I just saw him talk about Brothers: a tale of two sons, and was wondering if it had an emotion impact because he had brothers.

Buy 1 cat, get 4 kittens free

She had 4 kittens last night. Touch wood, they're all doing well. My brother will take one, maybe two, we'll keep one, so there's not too many to get rid of. In the canal.

Qikz » Fri Apr 18, 2014 11:14 am wrote:Reading up on the South Korean ferry sinking is heartbreaking. 350 students were on board and the principle of the school has commited suicide, probably feeling it's all his fault. A captain who made no attempt to save anyone and (much like in Greece told all the passangers to stay in their cabins) got off fine and there's still hundreds of people trapped in the ship.

Divers have found many bodies already and although there is a small, albeit very small chance of people still being alive, it's not loooking likely. Just horrible.

The BBC reporting has been a little off with regards to the fine details. The principal didn't commit suicide, the vice principal did. He had planned the whole trip, but I still think he was an idiot for committing suicide. It's just even more sadness...The captain isn't getting off free either. He's likely to face 5-7 years jailtime. 7 years being the maximum for this crime in Korea.

Anyway the feeling in Korea is terrible. The school which those students attended is really close to my girlfriends house. One of her co worker's son was onboard the ferry. He was one of the survivors. Think how horrible it must be to be one of the survivors. One of the girls who survived is the only survivor from her entire class. All of her friends are just gone. :( Only 2 teachers from the trip survived too...It hit close to home to me when I was reading text messages sent from a student on the boat to her teacher. I'm quite close with some of my students...My principal just last week had planned our school trip to go to Jeju. Of course it's cancelled now...

There's a lot of anger and finger pointing just now too.

0850KST: The 3 bodies were discovered as the divers peered into the 4th floor through a window while they were in the stairway between the 3rd and 4th floors. The 3 bodies were wearing life jackets. Because the water currents change directions four times a day, the coast guard have started to install nets in the area for bodies that may still be in the water.
Divers will concentrate their efforts at 1110 KST and 1700 KST, when the water currents are expected to die down.

horrible :(

No good can come of this story - no improvements can be made, no solace can be gained. It's just one big misery. :(

Horrible, horrible tragedy.

Just came back from camping in the new forest, strawberry floating beautiful up there and really close to home.

Bought a massive barbecue on the way back, a coal fuelled one too as it needs to be done properly.

Everything I saw from the BBC said it was the Vice Principal, not the Principal.

Still, don't think there'll be any good news coming out of this now. Unlikely there'll be any survivors at this point, and it'll just be recovering dozens of bodies. Awful for the parents of these kids.

Ad is right. If you're using gas, you might as well not be having a barbecue at all.

I just found out Mean Girls is written by Tina Fey. I feel like this is something I should have known a long time ago. :fp:

A new forest? Is it a couple of bushes on the sidewalk?

That's barbecuing for idiots who can't get the coals to light.
