So either the tribes are not all equal numbers or the wolf has been placed in a tribe but presumably has their own agenda.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

All we can do is sit on that and keep our eyes out. I suspect that it is one per tribe but that isn't in line with the rules speaking of a line wolf.

What?

32/4=8, surely that's 8 per tribe, no?

From the rules:
5b: Be careful - there are rumours of a "lone wolf".
5c: Would the game be easier to play as a solo player than in a tribe? Only time will tell…
5d: [Please bear in mind: (a) lone wolf (/wolves) will have a different trigger condition to achieve Dominance, as well as having different points allocations than those stated below]

Even with the enormous drag factor of Qikz, I think we have a very competitive tribe.

I see now, so one or more tribe has a lone wolf player amongst them.

Not sure what the beef is but Qikz is a good sport and very knowledgable about Mafia inspired games so I'm very happy to have him.

I think we can all come up with a good plan if we knock our heads together. It's true the rules are new to us all, but the ones to engage with right now are just GAME STRUCTURE and WEEKDAY CYCLE.

Roonmastor wrote:So I think the strategy for lockinh down who is from what tribe is to watch their voting behaviour on who they are voting against and for what tribe mid week. You won't score points voting incorrectly so there is no benefit to vote someone as your own tribe...except to make it tough to track you.

So it might be worth each of us voting for Vigilante at some point to hide that trail, and do so relatively early before others call that strategy out in thread.

It may also be worth choosing one tribe you won't vote for to pretend you are that tribe.

This is a good start imo, definitely worth thinking about. We want to get into the mindset of what would we do if we were a different tribe? Naively, we would "know" who's in that tribe and so all our votes would be for people to belong to "other" tribes. Then we need to subvert that so we don't leave that trail of clues.

I'm interested in "Red Tribe", did they leave it like that as a mind game or did one of the groups have a bit of a nightmare and not manage to get a PM in on time? Does it tell us anything if so?

Blue tribe thought they would confuse the hell out of Red tribe by calling themselves Red Tribe and it backfired in the the opening post!

I think Blue Tribe calling themselves Red Tribe is just a joke.

One thing to watch out for is a kill being used the first possible day one can be earned - anyone who didn't post in the preceding days musn't be in the tribe that ordered the kill, so any inactive players will have slightly higher odds (1/3 rather than 1/4?) of being in the targeted tribe (which would be public).

I see that no-one is brave enough to even suggest a suspect yet in fear of giving anything away

Do you think we can glean anything from the tribe names? TRIBE YER EYES MATE sounds like something Ob or Preezy may have come up with to me, but obviously could just be a bluff name like we were considering.

Guarantee Ob, Preezy or Tomous are in that group.

On a separate note, is anyone else keen to move the tribe chat to either Discord or WhatsApp?

This is mainly because I'm paranoid about posting in the main thread accidentally and giving something away

Satriales has made a good point in thread that it is actually beneficial to keep inactive players around (ones not in our tribe anyway) as they would prevent other tribes accumulating powers.

It's a bit early in the game to be calling anyone inactive but I think Chris is normally on the lower level of activity in these games? Wonder if that has anything to do with him being 'randomly' selected by Drumstick.

SuperChris very rarely posts in these games other than to say he's just woken up at like 8pm and to ask what's going on. He usually gets a little bit more active later on, but I think he has a lot of trouble sleeping which is why he's very rarely around during the day.

I Agree.

We've actually got a decent team with people like DML, Qikz and site23, all fairly knowledgeable about mafia games and all good at strategic thinking.
