Would.

Creases under eyes, not enough eye lashes, poorly applied eye make-up, nose too pointy, weird upturned top lip, fake looking teeth, bad hair extensions, poor choice of dress colour for her complexion, puffy shoulders on dress, too many moles on arms, flabby upper leg. 3/10. Would not bang.

Yet no mention of her massive man-jaw.

to anyone who watched the US version of skins, is it... tolerable? huge fan of the UK one obvs even liked the sham that was series 6 (though the music in series 5 & 6 is the best thing to ever come out of skins next to getting me into drugs)

I watched the first few episodes back when it aired. The only thing I remember was how strawberry floating annoying it was that they seemingly weren't allowed to say the word 'drug'.

The censorship in episode four was even stupider than that pixelated note in Breaking Bad.

The show regularly features people being horribly murdered and they censor a written word.

Breaking Bad can only say it about once a season. American censoring is messed up.

This is what I don't get. One minute I hear that US censoring is so strict but the next minute they have shows that are full of swearing and nudity. I know that the networks have far stricter guidelines than the cable channels but still the censoring seems to widely differ.

How does it actually work?

For network television:

Consistent with a federal indecency statute and federal court decisions interpreting the statute, the Commission adopted a rule that broadcasts -- both on television and radio -- that fit within the indecency definition and that are aired between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. are prohibited and subject to indecency enforcement action.

Chicago Hope, ER and some other shows have previously used "gooseberry fool" on occasion after 10pm without getting in trouble.

The FCC does not regulate cable television.

Organisations such as the Parents Television Council organise boycotts, protests and pressures advertisers to stop supporting shows and channels which feature sex, swearing and violence which in turn forces the advertisers to demand less of that stuff from stations. The PTC in particular target shows which appeal to teens.

HBO, Showtime and Starz don't have this problem because they make money from subscription fees so they can air what they like.

Yeah, ER said 'gooseberry fool' once, I believe. It was when Carter was reading the letter that Mark Greene wrote to everyone before he went to Hawaii.

The emotional nature of the scene required some heavier language than 'god damn'.
