Yeah, that was annoying. Other than that, a good episode. Worth it for the final five minutes. I'd just been saying I thought it was a little on the dull side, then

I'm getting to Sunday nights and feeling utterly knackered, so I might have to start watching it on a Monday.

Watching Brody's action in the episode made me so angry I swore at him via the TV! He is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The last scene was fantastic however I didn't expect that to happen until at least the end of series 2 as I'd thought the writers would string it out a bit. So what happens now? I speculate that... if Saul isn't a double agent who will bury his find, then the FBI will use it on Brody to make him a double-agent. Maybe he will turn hero, or not. Whatever happens Brody isn't going to come out of this alive.

Venom - totally agree with your spoilered bit. I didn't trust Saul throughout the first series (he has a beard, for a start, which is American TV code for untrustworthy) and it was only towards the end, when I didn't realise there were going to be more series, that I finally acepted he wasn't in on it.

Having watched episode 3 it would appear our suspicions were wrong. Saul is greatly acted, how he cares for Carrie and is also frustrated with her for being a mental case. He slowly watches then says something which either means he is wise or evil. But I still don't trust anybody - reminds me of early 24. In fact the only person I would be surprised if it turned out they were a spy is Carrie.

Definitely got a 24 vibe to this series ( ). The whole Brody murder/tyre change thing was so frustrating, it was like, "what MORE can go wrong?!"

Tempted to YARRR the next one as the adverts do my head in, really kill the pacing even if you can fast forward them on sky.

The whole thing with the tyre was just so... unnecessary. It show that he is irredeemably damaged. But Brody's hoe wife was too quick to invite her guest in. When Brody saw them holding hands he should have just pulverised the both of them but I guess he had other things on his mind. It's clever how the writers and the guy playing Brody get you to have mixed feelings for the character.

I know what you mean. This weekend I watched the X Factor and this and had an advert overload. It's why I've almost completely stopped watching movies on non-BBC channels years ago.

Last nights episode was easily the worst so far. I'd go as far as to say it has almost ruined the whole show for me. I realise with these things you have to suspend at least a little bit of your disbelief but last nights story line with Brody was just plain awful (so a potential VP has to go and rescue another terrorist - only to end up killing him. strawberry float off, If terrorists ever got somebody so high up the American political ladder I don't think they'd have him doing exceptionally risky odd jobs!).

It honestly made me angry how gooseberry fool it was.

Exactly. Especially as his position was so helpful to Nazir in the last episode. It was a bit of a convoluted way to get Brody involved in some action and show us his instability. He didn't need to answer the phone to his wife and when he did he could have said he was busy and put it down.

I was unimpressed with the episode. I understand that Carrie and Brody are meant to be parallel characters, and they therefore had to hit rock bottom at the same time, but it was drawn out, and not a little boring.

The benefit of TV is that you don't have to wait in what feels like real time for someone to arrive home from Beirut.

Oh, and the stuff in the woods was nonsense. Just hang the phone up, Brody. :fp:

You absolutely HAVE to watch S1 first. If only because, so far, it is much, much better.

Can't remember how many episodes there are. I want to say 12.

Do not watch season 2 without seeing 1 first, it's all setup and you won't give a toss otherwise.

Why wouldn't you?

It's not worth missing out on a great season of TV just so you can be up to date with everyone else.

I can't see how this show can go in any direction other than Brody helping Carrie and the CIA fight terrorism. Which will be hard to keep up without it getting silly.

Terrific ending though this week

It seems the jihadist video is not the smoking gun afterall...

Yeah I said pretty much the same.

Which means this series becomes less thriller and subterfuge and possibly more straight-up action.
