I didn't really enjoy that episode very much.

Was that supposed to be the big terrorist plot we've been building to all season? If so, extremely anti-climatic foiling of it all. It was painfully obvious that Nazir wasn't going to be in the car. And Quinn and Estes taking out Brody? Obviously there's a lot more to than than we're privy to right now but the whole thing doesn't sit right with me, my first impression is that it's too ridiculous and unbelievable. We've had a few moments like this throughout the season but none of them bothered me as much as this. There's something very '24 mole' about it.

That was a damn good episode, although the heart attack stuff seemed far-fetched in the extreme.

Preview for next week looks gooseberry fool hot.

Watching episode 10 at the moment... Nasir taking Carrie hostage and wireless access to a strawberry floating pacemaker!

Talk about jumping the shark! Wow

The threat seems largely theoretical. But a team of computer security researchers plans to report Wednesday that it had been able to gain wireless access to a combination heart defibrillator and pacemaker.

They were able to reprogram it to shut down and to deliver jolts of electricity that would potentially be fatal — if the device had been in a person. In this case, the researcher were hacking into a device in a laboratory.

Not one of the best episodes but enjoyed it none the less, interesting to see where they go from here. How many episodes in this season?

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S7, Dexter S2

12. Good episode, kept the non-terrorist stuff to a minimum. Interesting that Carrie didn't mention the Brody pacemaker stuff to her bosses.

Latest ep was a thrilling bit of stuff and nonsense that falls to pieces the instant you think about it for more than half a second. I particularly like the way that someone known to have been involved in an attempted terror attack on US soil is allowed the free run of the VP's residence, not to mention the fact that the Veep doesn't have any kind of security detail on his office, nor, apparently, is there any CCTV that would show Brody's role in his death.

Yet that is entirely possible! I LOL'd at it as well before reading the NYT article.

That's two episodes in a row that I've found to be pretty flawed. Pacemaker thing. Might be actually possible but what a gooseberry fool way for the VP to go out, it's like something 24 would have done on a bad season. Death by technology is just so lame. Why would Nazir risk everything by letting Carrie go first? He easily had the upper hand. Why does have no henchmen left? I find it pretty hard to believe they were all gunned down in the prior episode and that even if they were, that he couldn't smuggle more in. Lewis was overacting the gooseberry fool out of the Skype call to the point of distraction. The whole direction the show is moving in I felt like is working against its strengths. I can't shake the feeling that there's going to be some massive twist that just completely defies logic, just the sake of having a twist. I know it's a completely lazy way to characterise what I've found problematic but it really does feel like it's slowly turning into 24 2.0. And I strawberry floating loved 24 but S1 of Homeland proved it could do espionage intelligently, whereas now its gradually losing that intelligence.

It could all turn around in the final two episodes but I'm not particularly optimistic. Maybe I'm just over thinking it but it all just feels fundamentally flawed while I literally can't recall having a single issue with last season. I'm going to shut up now, I feel as confused and conflicted as Carrie. :slol:

I think people are being a bit down on recent Homeland. It's still really good, if not quite up to the first couple of eps this season (and, of course, most of last season). The Brody stuff was very tense this week.

Is it a double-ep finale or do we still have 2 weeks to go?

Dana in this weeks episode. :fp: Someone put a bullet in that strawberry floating girl's head. That constant sour puss look she has on her face irritates the hell outta me.

Great episode apart from the family gooseberry fool, though. Felt like a season finale. Wherethe hell does it go from here? New bad guy next season?

My prediction is they kill Quinn then go on the run. I have no idea how they'll extend this beyond a third season

At this point I'm totally on Estes' side, just kill the strawberry floater and put an end to all this.

It's not like she doesn't have a reason to be constantly pissed. Considering all that had happened, an outburst like that makes sense. And Morgan Saylor sells it well.

I liked this week's a lot more. It's certainly going to be a challenge to keep the level of quality up going forward.
