Didn't watch the first series for... I dunno why, just didn't. Then I saw the adverts for that suicide video and it got me intrigued. Have been hooked ever since. Enjoying series 2, even the really unlikely bits but what I'm enjoying most the moment is the fact BIG things happen in the middle of the series and not just at the end/approaching the end. That and Claire Danes

Did you at least go back and watch the first series?

No I didn't. I know the ins and outs of what happened and so I don't feel the need to. Is it so very good that I should watch it anyway?

Yeah, I'd say it's worth catching up with. Cracking drama.

Gnnnngh.

I can understand why they've chosen to run with the Dana thing, as it's all about the conflict between political and personal life, but it's leading to so many moments that jar. I mean, how is Brodie in a position to say "this is not strawberry floating okay", as if he's the show's moral compass or something? He's not in a position to dictate what the CIA does and doesn't do - has he forgotten he tried to commit a terrorist attack and he's extremely fortunate to be where he is right now? Granted, he's meant to be unhinged, but Carrie and everyone else seem to be bending over backwards for him rather than saying "strawberry float you, dude, you work for us or you're going to the chair". And I mean the whole idea of Walden and his wife wanting to brush it under the carpet is so predictable it's untrue.

And if Brodie's that desperate to bring Walden down, wouldn't he just report it anyway? That'd strawberry float up his campaign and he'd have his revenge. I'm not entirely sure why he has to stay close to Walden anyway: if this terrorist attack is imminent, why does Brodie need to play nice at this fundraiser?

Maybe all will become clear in the coming episodes. Next week's looks interesting at least.

The whole point was to get him in a position of power within the Whitehouse. So he'd need Walden to make that happen.

I've now switched to US pace to skip the awful ads, makes it so much better. But the last couple of episodes with all the family gooseberry fool have been so blah. I understand it is so that it affected Brody's state of mind and behaviour. The start and middle of episode 8 were just boring but thankfully the ending did pick up some pace. Now will episode 9 be all about whether Brody has switched allegiances again? Or will he turn out to be a real hero as has been alluded to repeatedly, and die a hero?

I thought that was fantastic.

Even Dana's stuff, which I've come around on, mainly because of Morgan Saylor's brilliant performance.

Terrific this week. How did Carrie's big blonde head not get spotted at the end, though?

Has anyone who downloads Homeland noticed that the file is massive this week? I'm talking 1.5G, up about 1.1G on the normal file size.

I think maybe you downloaded the webrip that came out earlier. The TV rip that came afterwards was normal size.

Yep agree with all the above what a great episode. Especially like the bit where they were threatening to kill off Brody

Best episode in about 6/7 weeks by some distance. Brilliant Quinn subplot and toe-curlingly tense climax. Also: Morena Baccarin.
