The ability to tune out is obviously vital but, unlike performing music where I can just about manage it (at least it's a kind of different thing, lyrics aside), I'd be strawberry floating pissed trying to recall lines in the middle of 100 conversations about irrelevant gooseberry fool.

These days I tend to call that garbage. I'll sometimes actually say to no-one in particular, my head is filling up with garbage, strawberry float off so I can focus. It's a real issue for people who can't control that and filter background noise out.

As an punter, knowingly or otherwise, noisy people (and I mean persistently chatting about gooseberry fool or strawberry floating. kicking. chairs or whatever) are disabling other people's ability to experience what they've travelled and paid to be there and do. No it's not just an innocent little natter about whatever, just filter it out, just stop paying attention to it, no, you're making that impossible for them.

Like, I can understand that to the degree of imagining it right now when I haven't been to the cinema or any theatre thing in ages. For most people it's mildly irritating but when it's actually disabling you have a whole other level of empathy for it. So I don't do it.

Yeah some people are so rude at the cinema and theatre.

We went to the cinema last year with a mum and dad and 3 teenage children. The children were constantly checking phones during the film, fighting each other and just being generally annoying. Why go cinema if your not going to watch the film?

If anyone near me goes onto their phone I tend to notice it as things like that tend to get my attention as I can see it out the corner of my eye.

Like halfway through spider-man no way home, someone just straight up got their phone out and took a picture of the screen. We all saw it cause the flash was on.
