He's on his own in the middle of nowhere and iirc he's super tall and must be a fat bastard in his armour so even in a poncho he's pretty obvious. He's gooseberry fool at hiding so it's lucky he's passable with a gun.

I realise how stupid my comment was, I was merely trying to be logical in the face of such silliness. I guess in a world where children are plucked from their parents at a young age to fuel a government funded super soldier program to combat an army of religious fanatics there is no place for logic... my bad :fp:

Neither the trailer nor Microsoft mentioned 'Halo 5.' Maybe the high number scares of potential new customers?

while i wouldnt say this teaser had the impact of some of the other halo ones it still did interest me. the fact his helmet is all cracked and hes on his own could mean the UNSC have made him into an outcast?

My prediction:

Chief wants to find a way to save Cortana. The UNSC are like "lol stop being a whiny bitch, she's a computer. Go kill things for us." Chief is like "no sir". He then goes off to find a piece of Forerunner tech that can defrag Cortana's HDD and maybe get her running in safe mode.

Chief goes off across the galaxy on his own (or maybe with Lasky). Shoots things.

good prediction although you need to amend the last bit to "Shoots things with the power of the cloud!"

Well Halo/Master Chief is MicroSoft's Mario.

I wouldn't go far to say its milking the franchise until we get Halo Kart/Party/Dancing/Golf/Snooker.

It changed from trilogy to saga about 8 or 9 months ago, it even says "Reclaimer Saga" on the Halo 4 box. This story is stupid.

Who'd have thunk that Halo's plotting would count as a "saga".

I don't know how people keep a straight face discussing its story merits.

The original Halo had the best story, and yet no one has really thought about why that is still the case. Because it ultimately did more with less, and developed it in the most understated manner. About the time they started expanding the Covenant hierarchy in Halo 2, I felt the story was going to spiral away a little bit from that.

Personally, I feel they completely ruined it by going in depth and explaining basically everything. The forerunner were more interesting before we knew who they were, etc.

Besides, I'm tired of Mister Chef as a character. He bores me senseless. More games in the theme of The Best Halo (sometimes referred to as Reach) are what the series needs, rather than taking a badass Marine and turning him into a superhero.

The new trailer seemed ridiculous to me. Similar to Final Fantasy trailers, where the characters are doing crazy backflips and summoning huge demons and then in the game you run around taking turns to hit each other with swords. Am I supposed to believe that thing that rose out of the sand wouldn't flatten the Chef in about 2 seconds, when his moveset basically consists of shooting a gun, jumping and throwing grenades?

I had a dream last night where Master Chief removed his armour to reveal two bald midgets stacked on top of each other. :shifty:

It was odd to say the least.

So that's what The Librarian did to him in Halo 4!

Yeah, I agree with Harry Bizzle. Since the original Halo, the better stories have been those based around squads of human characters like ODST and Reach, rather than main series, which just goes more in-depth to the series' mythology which, let's face it, is back-of-a-fag-packet stuff when it comes to plot.

Master Chief was better as silent protagonist than the recent attempts to turn him into a character. The only real decent attempt at characterisation has been Cortana, who has been solid throughout.
