It was you/your mrs that recommended some amazing places in Rome to eat eh? Will defo check out the food places she's listed there.

It was indeed.

Hmm, your Mrs might struggle a bit for vegetarian options as most stuff has fish sauce etc. in it. Lots and lots of pork, too. Your best bet might be the more western friendly places in the old town. They're obviously more expensive, but are still very tasty and typically have vegetarian options. Something like Noodle & Roll near the big lake.

Oh I misspoke really, she's a pescetarian. Hopefully with that we can find a few more places.

Driving to Ireland (via ferry) today to have a few days break.

And it looks like there was a lot of flooding in Rosslare/Wexford area last night. Yay. :dread:

Hopefully the flooding will have cleared up by time we get there.

I'm almost there, currently onboard (and bored) on the ferry.

My son hasn't enjoyed the crossing. It's not been very rough but he's felt sick and has now been asleep for an hour and a half.

Yeah, the Irish sea isn't the best crossing to do, I only ever did it once but I felt pretty bad too.

In contrast, I've always been fine on the English channel crossings I've done, even the choppier ones.

It's too dark outside for photos, but here's one where you can see Ireland approaching in the distance.

No signs of flooding at all in the roads around the accommodation. Lucky we arrived today and not last night!

Treat yourself to the local Irish cuisine. A deli chicken fillet roll from the petrol station and also an Irish-Chinese speciality (a spicebag). Oh, and Irish Dairy Milk.

Was Photek standing at the dockside with a welcome banner?

My last two Belgium vlogs features Bruges at night, and a short visit to Ypres.

Stayed in Ypres town centre at the Novotel a few years back, it's a fascinating place, there's so much history there.

Was supposed to be getting getting ferry from Rosslare at 7.30pm tonight. But they've cancelled all ferries until Friday!

Quickly rebooked for a Dublin to Holyhead ferry tomorrow morning. Was tempted to ask Photek if I could stay with him, but instead we booked a grotty hotel for the night.

Fun!

Hour delay with ferry this morning but we are finally moving! Apparently one of the engines has a technical fault so I guess the next part of the adventure is being stranded in the middle of the Irish Sea.

Good luck, hope the crossing isn't too bouncy.

What a crazy trip.

Boat was delayed an hour this morning, which was fine. Then we got diverted across North Wales to somewhere near Runcorn. Got on the M56 and then ended up at a complete standstill for over an hour, apparently because there were "pedestrians on the carriageway" up ahead. No idea if it was a protest or some other reason.

Home now though. It was a lot of fun, but I think I'll fly next time.
