Welcome to the 2012 GRCade Series of Poker!
It's back and better than ever. This annual event, open to all GRCade members, is a three-week series of Poker tournaments across several variations of poker and cheap buy-ins, meaning there is something for everyone- seasoned vet, or eager beginner, as we all strive to succeed Drumstick as Player of the Year. There's seven events this year, so there should be no shortage of action for any would be participants. This year should be interesting as Drummy goes for a treble, following up POTY wins in 2010 and 2011. That said, GRCade does have a deep player pool, as every single event had a different winner in 2011. Lastly, please note that the GRSOP is only open to GRCade members.
I'm not a Poker Thread regular, why should I play?
Firstly, it's great fun, regardless of your experience. The tournament range is diverse- and you can play is as many, or as little as you want. It's a great way to get the feel and experience of playing in a high-stakes poker tournament, without paying much- the cheapest tournament is $1 (That's about 60p) and 5 of the events are only $3. It's a light-hearted but competitive atmosphere, in which you can enjoy some friendly banter while playing for a decent prize. It can also be a great gateway into Poker and improving your game- from personal experience, the GRSOP of 2011 was my first 'real' poker experience which set me off into learning more- and earlier this year I managed to coming 139th in a ~2,000 person live event in Coventry. In short- it's simple to do, low cost to enter and there's a ton of Expected Fun. And let's face it- what else can you do that's this much fun for $3 on a Sunday night?
How do I play?
If you don't already have it, download the free PokerStars software from http://www.pokerstars.com
- Open the main poker lobby, then click on the Home Games tab
- Click the 'Join a Poker Club' button
- Enter Club ID number: 30997
Your membership will then be approved by an existing member- this shouldn't take long, but if it does, the best people to PM are probably Drumstick, PsychicSykes or myself.

The History
The first ever GRSOP event was, as it is this years- Heads-Up. SpaceJebus claimed the prize that day, running through a veritable murderers row of DML, Drumstick and Rex McGee. Player of the Year went to the final event, and in a thrilling encounter, Psychic became the inaugural GRSOP POTY to stake a claim in history. 2010 saw the addition of 8-game, and the beginning of the Drumstick era, as he managed to win points in every event as he claimed a first POTY title, while Rocketman became the first person to win two bracelets (Two event wins). 2011 was a crazy year, with 6 events and 6 different winners. It came down between Clarkman and Drumstick for the POTY title and Drummy prevailed again by taking down the Main Event.
