Hm, I have 160 points kicking about. I'll take a look.

edit - heh.

I had all sorts of flashbacks to Trials HD Extreme playing this. It's a pretty masochistic take on the platformer. Dunno if I'd play it much though.

Experiment 12 is also worth a look. (Raze recommended)

Proper marmite game, some love it some hate it. I like it. I have stuck it on the first page too.

Quite a few games out today, need to see what ones are good. Definitely need to test the Hamster physics one, it's 80 points.

Have you tried many that have been recommended on the first page? Some good stuff in there. Let us know what others you find.

It might not be terrible, but it holds no interest for me at all.

What sort of games do you like?

Lots of stuff really, I guess my problem with the vast majority of the 10% (lets just say that for the sake of argument) of the stuff on there that isn't just plain bad, is that for a little more you can get a better version of it elsewhere, with better production values, a better feeling set of controls or with more to offer. Either that or as in the case of Miner Dig Deep, it just doesn't interest me at all.

Like I said the only exception so far (and I do check out most of the games people recommend) is Jump. Thats mainly because it could quite easily be an XBLA game and no one would say it was out of place.

You see Jump didn't interest me much at all. Perhaps for the reasons you stated.

Two platformers released today, not had a chance to test either but both are 240 points

They are:

Johnny Platform saves Xmas

Chris Unarmed

Also for those who like Picross there is a 80 puzzle, very basic version of the game up for 80 points. The game is called Pixelpix

Gerbil Physics (80 points)

The trailer gives you an idea of the gameplay.

Simple in theory but may take a while to get the Star on each level.

Gerbil Physics is pretty short but it's really good. Perfect 80 pointer.

HOLY strawberry floating strawberry float. Beat Hazard is MARVELLOUS.

It's a twin-stick shooter that reacts to the music you put through it, changing the attack waves, the visualisations and such-like to fit the song.

Incredible stuff.

Thanks Eighthours, I'll give that a shot and update the front page.

Anyone who has not purchased Pocoro, I I would now. The game has been reduced to 80 points. Nice Puzzle game

A few more releases I need to try out at some point this weekend. I'll post some opinions at some point over the next week. Have a Pensions exam next Friday so revising for that.

This one grabs me especially

Leave Home - 240 points

Also out, the mad looking Herman (400 points)

and Border Wars - 240 points
(another shooter)

First Impression

I have just played Leave Home. The demo is really short. The reason for this is the main game is 5 minute score attack, with unlimted lives. The game adjusts in difficulty depending on how well you are doing, more enemies may appear and/or the level structure changes it really adds to the game.

If you go to the notes pages there are extras to unlock, including a hard mode, extras stages and other bits.

I think the game looks and sounds decent but know that this game will not be for everyone, initially I thought is that it, but after several plays I am slowly getting better and my scores are improving with each play and I enjoy the game and the way it adjusts. It's a really good effort and I do like it. If you like score attack games give it a go and tell me what your best is =)

Give the trial a shot, if you like score attack games I think you'll like this. It is a nice effort.

A proper review can be found here

some of these games are looking really good now. it seems the indie scene is taking a while to kick in , a bit like the ipod touch/iphone situation. i will give a few of these a go, excellent updates qupe

You see this interested me, but the demo didn't allow me to use my own music.I could select tracks but when I started a game it just Game Overed instantly. Because of this I had no idea how well it works and it seemed pretty shifty.

So, how well does the game adapt to using your own music? Does it fit in well or do the attack patterns bear little resemblance to your choice of tune?

Arkedo Pixel does looks good. The trailer doesn't give too much away but does make it look easy

SOME GAME CLIPS

Trailer for Party Boat which has just been released. Looks like it could be a decent simulation style game

also an Alien Breed clone game coming (although I would suggest they delay releasing this now what with the real thing on Live this week)

Dysonmia

Pixel Boarder (coming soon)

Polyverse - this looks like it could get quite challenging

Trickshot
