That football game looks like its basically a Sega Soccer Slam/Mario Strikers clone, would that be accurate?

Maybe, I have not played those games but having a look at the trailers I would say something similar

Not entirely, but it's certainly worth trying. It's got plenty of features for an Indie game and the gameplay is fairly decent if you just want some simple knock about laughs.

Also worth a try is Squid Yes! Not So Octopus!

It can be brutally hard later on, but for those with masochistic tendencies it's a glorious sensory assault and all for 80 msp.

Squid Yes! Not So Octopus! is basically a survival/robotron/geometry/space giraffe (visuals) game. One stick shooter you aim the direction you move. It's worth 80 pts.

Fog - Wasted Seconds has posted a good review of your game. http://wastedseconds.com/?p=3112#more-3112

Not sure if anyone has tried it but a game worth trialing is Run Away. I have no idea why I like it, it is kinda humorous, but it is also really basic but again at 80 points it's not gonna rob your bank and I am addicted and my daughter laughs when I play it. Possibly a marmite game though.

Has anyone played this game yet?

I am quite happy this game is coming soon

You guys should really check out some Indie games, if you don't already that is. For 800 points you could pick up at least 5 quality titles (10 if you only want 80 point games).

Is there anything else similar to Geometry Wars 1/2/Biology Battle?
I love those types of games.

I'm sure I recall one being released before (shatter?), but anything in the Indie range?

Yep it is, 400 points too.

Couple of games with price reductions

Hexothermic is now 80 points - I'd say this is a steal for puzzle fans.

Orbyx (Peggle clone) is now 240 points

And here are a few you may want to take a look at

Aesop's Garden (240 points) is also out

Wool (80 points)

Amniotic (80 points)

Aardvark (240 points)

Jumper Robot (240 points)

Space Milkman (240 points)

Sorry for the lack of updates work is mental and I am revising for financial exams.

I will update the front page with recommended games in the next week or so and post games that are recommended (images only) in their respective points zone in a future post, so people who go to the front of the thread can see games recommended and the same for people who are new to the thread and jump to the last page.

Got anything you'd recommend? Tell me the games, their cost and I will update the thread =)

Anyone remember Cabal a game along those lines is being made for the Indie Games scene

http://www.evolutiondreamstudio.com/blo ... reenshots/

Looks really good to me. Hope it plays just as well.

Small note people who didn'y pick up Atomhex when it was 80 points have lost out. The game is now 240 points putting itself in amongst the excellent Biology Battle and Echoes+

I will agree with this, simple and not great looking but damn addictive.

New game release today I will recommend downloading

Ikaroids (240 points)

Yes it's another twin stick shooter but it's a damn good one. Campaign mode and a survival mode. The game has 3 levels of difficulty. The graphics are good, although the screen at times can become so cluttered you can't see enemy bullets, decent music too.

Just watch the video and download it =)

Another game I'd recommend now, at least trialling, is Nasty. The game has come down from 400 points to 80 today. I think it is a steal at that price.

For some reason Biology Battle has gone back up to 400 points from 240 points, this game has changed from 800 to 400 to 240 and now back to 400. Oh well, it is a good game.

More of a update coming soon, hopefully on the 19th I will change this thread a bit just in time for Christmas.

I wanted to add a poll to this thread but don't think I can now.

I just want to know roughly how many people here purchase Indie games? If you don't what puts you off? The lack of achievements? Because you have to have a live connection to play them? It's too hard to sort through the dross?

More like that all there is is dross.

The only game I've seen so far I'd say worth getting is Jump.

Anyway, Ikaroids looks interesting. Not sure I'd buy it at that price though.

I suppose we shall disagree on that one, there are loads of good games on the service, but there is a lot of dross just like any other market/service.

What sort of games do you like?

Something Fishy

That's honestly not the case. It's 90% dross, yes, but there are a handful of excellent little games on there that are definitely worth the pound or two they cost. Miner Dig Deep has made it onto my game of the year list.
