No, your username and password should work! You can reset your password if it doesn't for some reason.

To be fair.. is there a way of deleting all of my posts, say... Pre-2015 when we transition?

I think the plan is to lock everything older behind a membership wall so only we'll be able to see it. I've especially said some strawberry floating stupid gooseberry fool especially around 2008 and 2009. As much as I'd like to delete it, it's still a stark reminder of how much I've changed for the better.

I think deleting old posts partially lead to a lot of the issues now as well since it strawberry floated around with the database.

The current problem with removing thousands and thousands of old posts is that it royally strawberry floats up the database, and besides that, we literally can't even execute the delete function in phpBB without it breaking and there are other residual side effects. It's reasonable to think phpBB was never really designed for a relatively small number of individual users to post over 3 million times, although not sure if that's actually true or not, it basically is for us at the moment.

On the new platform, regardless of what is or isn't visible, we should be able to do more DB operations as well as delete accounts without causing damage to the DB, which is what it's currently doing. Which obviously helps with data compliance etc too (even if besides email addresses etc we're not in the scope GDPR/forget all this random gooseberry fool I said on the internet with an alias).

Edit: Oh I guess I lost track, it's very close to 5 million now.

Flarum has gdpr tools coming natively in version 2 or as an extension currently. So when if hypothetically a politically belligerent person was to become a lead writer at large French game company, we can anonymise all of their posts.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Predicting that there will be a scramble to secure 'The official testing thread' on the new platform!

A couple of things I'm struggling with:

[*] Is there a search function? I can't find it
[*] I'm unable to edit an old topic title. On phpbb, you can do this by editing the opening post. This does not appear to be an option on Flarum

Neither issue is a huge problem, but both would be nice to have.

Gave it a go, and honestly I'd be on board going over. Not that I have much of say; since I don't feel like I'm part of GRcade these days. But yeah, liking the new forum so far.

Search is a weakness of Flarum. There are some things you can do at the moment to improve it, but it's definitely not as full features as our current search. The good news is that the Flarum developers are looking to improve it, but that's not use to us at the moment.

The renaming topic titles seems to be a permissions issue. There are three settings we can choose from:

I suppose setting it to Always would make it match our current config.

That's genuinely a shame, Seven.

Nothing wrong with taking breaks - I often have! - but I tend to think that it's our own mindsets that most impact how we feel about the place. Sure, sometimes there may be disagreements and, naturally, there will always be one or two folk whom we don't really get along with. But we can often manage how we deal with those situations; it's normally best to shrug it off, take a break, ignore that person - or any combination of those paths!

I really hope that you can find a way back, dude.

I'm renaming this thread... for an hour.
