Without wishing to sound defensive about flarum, I don't see how the stickied threads take up any more space on there than on phpbb.
By default on my 1440p monitor with both Games sections maximised I can see 14 threads on Flarum and 15 on GR. Hardly some massive difference.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I have it Ctrl-zoomed in a bit and it's noticably worse than on here. It's because they use the first 2 or 3 lines from each thread for some reason (I don't know why). Whereas on here it's just the thread title.

Yeah, I think getting rid of the preview text would be good, if that's an option. Unnecessary waste of space.

Plus the thing I said before - pinned threads don't seem to keep track of your "read" position.

It's pretty annoying on touchscreen (iPad, in my case. Presume others are the same). First tap on a thread makes it grey (for no apparent reason). Needs a second tap to open the thread. Not intuitive at all.

I don't see the preview text you're talking about.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

The preview text will disappear if you read the opening post of those threads. Basically ensures you see some of the content of any announcements even if you don't open it.

Not in ages

EDIT: Changing password worked

But it hasn’t done. I’ve opened the bargains thread multiple times. Maybe it’s related to the not keeping track of position in those threads, if it doesn’t recognise that I’ve read them.

I found I had to scroll down past the first post for it to register properly, then when I hit the back button the preview disappeared.

I think it's a sticky thing. I'll unsticky them.

Yeah, you have to view entirety of the first post. It's like when a game has an EULA that you have to scroll all the way through before it let's you accept it.

Another little thing, which I've noticed on other platforms over the years, is that it doesn't display the exact time a post was made. Just a vague "1hr ago" or whatever to indicate how long it's been.

It's a really small thing, but I really prefer the more exact post time and dates that we have. Is it possible to change that?

dmin wrote:One thing I noticed though... can you search within a thread or is it just the main search?

Also, I tried searching for sniper elite and it came back with the main couple of sniper elite threads then some other threads and posts with elite in it. However, it didn't pick up on my post inside the currently playing thread, which should have been the most recent... Is it the way I'm searching or is it down to how it orders the list? (I didn't check all the results so it might have been in there somewhere!)

If you mouse over the 1hr ago thing it tells you the precise time.

This thread sponsors GRcade SigSwap, potentially the last ever SigSwap if Flarum does not support Sigs.

I’m not allowed to have a sig anyway.
