I think this would be less “confusing” if they just charged £10 for the PS5 upgrade instead of giving it away for free.

The DLC is £20 on PS4 and £30 on PS5. If you buy the DLC on PS4 you can upgrade it to PS5 for £10. That’s all this is.

It’s obviously not as seamless as Microsoft’s policy, but I honestly have to wonder how some people get through their day if that’s genuinely too complicated or confusing for them to wrap their head around.

I agree and I feel that's the crux of it jiggles; right now, Sony's game upgrade policy is not as good as Microsoft's.

£30 for an upgrade is too much considering I only played the game six months ago.

Yeah, for £20-30 that expansion needs to be proper meaty

Also, PS5 is the only console powerful enough to have Japanese lip syncing

What's being offered here is more than a simple performance upgrade tho. Unless the XSX upgrades offer free extra added features too which would be a big plus. Also hasn't all the post game content for GoT been free so far? I get the concerns but at the same time, this is one of the few games where I feel the pricing is worth for the product. We still don't know how big Iki Island is yet either.

It's just the confusion that's crazy given how much Sony trumpeted the ease of sharing games last generation. Why does each game seem to have a different situation? Why are people still getting caught out with their machine pulling down a PS4 version of a game instead of a PS5 one? Why are some games getting patches and not others? Why are Plus versions/digital versions/ physical versions all being treated differently?

They've taken what should have been a simple situation and complicated it unnecessarily, because money I guess?

Director’s Cut is basically just the game, online mode and the new DLC (a whole new island with new enemies) with no extra content added to the original game.

You can get a free upgrade for the PS5 but only for the original GOT. The rest had to be paid.

Hmm not sure if I want to replay the whole game as it’s still fresh in my memory.

This is what I'm feeling, not sure I want to go back through after only just recently completing it. The DLC needs to offer something different/indepth to be worth it for me.

Hivebusters (substantial DLC for Gears 5) was free for Gamepass Ultimate as well as PC ultra visuals/Performance.

I think the base game should get PS5 upgrades for free, especially for first party. Forza Horizon 4 literally had a new team contracted to upgrade it for Series and it was still free, they are all free and they aren’t just FPS boosts… Bethesda did the same for both consoles with ESO and Doom Eternal.

I wish I'd bought the digital PS4 version when it was twice on sale at £31 during the past couple of months. I'm guessing that it's not gonna go on sale again any time soon with the new, more expensive version coming out.

I agree with Jen in thinking that the PS4 to PS5 upgrade process across the game library as a whole seems to be pretty confusing; certainly in comparison to what MS are doing. But, hey, that's going a bit off topic so I'll take that thought to another thread :-).

Well then that's a plus. I still think we need to hold out and wait for more info on these expansion details. But this all does seem a bit all over the place.

Ratchet and Clank is already under 50 quid new on eBay, Hitman 3 fell to under 40 within weeks.

Guarantee Shadow of Tsushima DC on PS5 will be £40 or under before you know it, especially with the extremely competitive Thanksgiving/Christmas period coming up, on a title loads of people will have already played.

The market can’t seem to sustain £60-£70 for very long on but a few major releases. Look at Ratchet and Clank - some retailers knocked £10 off the £70 RRP before it had even come out.

Lot of people on Reddit etc claiming it's fine cus "Devs did the work on the upgrade and gotta get paid" when it's obviously just down to Sony upping the cost of PS5 games while simultaneously having backwards compatibility so they have to add this arbitrary £10 pricetag to stop people just getting the PS4 version.

They really should just take the hit.

I'm guessing it won't be a particularly big expansion either or they'd have done a standalone release like Miles Morales alongside Spider-Man Remastered so £20 or £30 seems a lot.

Is Shadow of Tsushima the unannounced sequel?

KKlein confirms it.

I think one half of my brain was thinking about Ghost of Tsushima, the other Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and there's the result.

(ironically I made a joke on here the other day about how Hulk Hogan would fail to remember the name of A Plague Tale: Innocence and I've basically gone and done the same bloody thing).
