Things might be picking up.

Maybe I shouldn't have sold those shares after all :fp:

I could brag about Northern Ireland having GAME stores, but there's only three of them or something stupid. It's pretty much a case of either supermarkets, HMV or the internet if you want to buy video games on either side of the border.

I only know of two, the one in Belfast, and there's one in Ards Shopping Centre (I thought this one shut but obviously not). Still a bit of a rip off.

Game actually seem to have improved in recent months, seen the occasional decent deal in store and trade-in prices, both for buying and selling are a lot more competetive in general. Still some ridiculously overpriced things but still there seems to be more parity with Supermarkets now.

Still have some truly clueless staff in them though, the other week I overheard the following conversation

Customer: "Excuse me mate, are there any new games coming out for Vita anytime soon"
Staff: "Not really mate, Sony are seeing how it does before they decided to release anymore games for it, if its not doing well against the 3DS after a year they're going to stop"
Customer "What about Call of Duty"
Staff "Nah mate, they're not making one at the moment, all depends how well it does"

Right behind him under 'Coming Soon' it listed CoD on the PSP. Its sad really that probably plenty of knowledgeable staff at other stores lost their job yet the likes of that guy, who clearly don't know their stuff are still working at them!

Lack of product knowledge and calling customers "mate" - guaranteed to keep people coming back for more since...well, never.
