It was Forza 3 where they told us of the super high res car models and showed lovely pictures.

Then the demo appeared and the models were only in photo mode and the opening sequence of the race. You could see them flicking between the high res and race model at the start.

Xbox 360 and PS3 launch games were supposed to be 720p HD. They told us they were genuine High Definition. They weren't.

They are. If you upscale them. So it's true. From a certain point of view.

Hopefully at E3 they'll show some actual gameplay so we can all be thoroughly underwhelmed and put this to bed.

I'm asking nicely in the hope people will just relax it a bit and don't turn every thread into a platform pissing competition.

If people continue then we will have no choice but to delete offending posts and start banning people from threads, which I'm sure nobody wants.

Except mockmaster, who wanted ip bans but I managed to talk him down.

Its getting very tiresome, about time.

It wont be a problem Rik when you stop treating unproven suggestions and rumours as fact.

As I said earlier, Ill believe it when I see it.

It's like Albear's post didn't happen. I'd strongly advise you both to utilise the forum's ignore function, for all of our sakes.

Falsey, how much of a difference did the frame rate make to Forza 4? I hated 3 and couldn't quite put my finger on what it was, though the time trial thing was a big part of it, but I just found out today that 3 was 30 FPS and am wondering if I should give 4 a chance.

What was the final word on the footage being real time? Because if it looks like that and is 1080p@60fps then it's going to be an amazing showcase for the launch of a new console.

Glad that's settled.

Has it been confirmed how many of the exact the same Skyline R34 will be in this version yet?

Hmm.. the visual aspect is a bit nicer, but thats true of the whole engine. The physics were still calculated at '60fps' in the 30fps game, so the input etc is largely similar. If you've not played 4 its worth a shot if you can find it cheap enough. The physics and 'feel' are much improved, to the point where every class is 'fun' to play. I genuinely enjoy racing the lower class cars in Forza 4 because they are so engaging to use.

I want the current roster plus a lot more of a selection for classic DTM, WTCC, BTCC, Super GT, ALMS etc.

I also liked the idea from Shift of taking a normal car and having the option to take it full 'works' conversion. Though obviously not on every car.

Turn10 aren't as bad for that as Polyphony, thankfully.

I'm waiting for some proper in-game footage, I.e. someone actually playing it rather than swooshy trailers that may well be done with the game engine proper, but thats not what it'll play like.

I'm curious what they're going to do with the livery editor, hopefully not just more layers but stuff like matte/pearlescent vinyl options, ability to use shapes to erase to the base layer, that sort of thing.

Falsey, what about some sort of open wheel car set and proper rally stages? It wouldn't be the best way, but they could get Playground to improve on the rally stuff in horizon for it.

They need to bring in matte paint from Horizon, paint finish options on wheels (matte, gloss etc), and sort out the slight bugs in the livery editor.
