*Another* delayed game... Dying Light won't be out until February 2015.

The last preview videos were looking good - it's a shame we now have to wait quite a bit longer for release.

I'm not keen on the many similarities to their previous game, but bugger me if that trailer hasn't got me interested in this all over again.

The UK release date is 30 January 2015 and there's a new trailer for the 'Be the Zombie' mode...

Dying Light no longer a PS3 and 360 game

"We have no choice but to leave past-gen systems behind."

There will no longer be PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of upcoming zombie game Dying Light.

Polish developer Techland - the studio that created Dead Island - explained on Facebook that the older consoles "just couldn't run the game and stay true to the core vision".

It's a core vision that includes an open-world, and fluid, free-running traversal of it. Plus, there's all the lighting and physics that the newer machines are capable of. They add up to the "truly next-gen experience" Techland wants to create.

"Therefore, after thorough internal testing, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to leave past-gen systems behind and release Dying Light exclusively on the next-gen consoles and PC," Techland explained.

"Put simply, older consoles just couldn't run the game and stay true to the core vision of Dying Light at the same time. "

Dying Light - PC, PS4 and Xbox One - is due 30th January.

Depends when in Spring Dead Island 2 is released (EU Dying Light is set for Jan 30).

Does look lovely. I'm hyped for Dead Island 2 as I was a huge fan of the first game, despite its flaws, but this could be interesting.

The devs who made Dead Island 1 are making Dying light. Dead Island 2 is being made by a completly different dev.

Yep 4 player co-op as per Dead Island.

Cool. The new Dead Island has 8-player co-op, I think, but I don't have that many friends, and it sounds a bit chaotic to me. 3/4 is a good number for a team. Destiny has been amazing in three-player. :datass:

Will have to monitor this closely. The start of 2015 could get very expensive. :fp:

Does anyone knows how this is meant to be shaping up? As per the above posts, I'm very hyped for either this or Dead Island 2, but there won't be room for both in my life. So I need to choose wisely.

(I'll probably wait for reviews of both to land before choosing.)
