It was quite fun for me spotting Bristol locations they were using for London. But they really should have covered up the Clifton Village residents parking signs. ;)

I honestly don't know what to say about that episode other than it was strawberry floating nuts from start to finish. Gatwa was fantastic and the new companion was good. The story was unhinged, made zero sense but was fun from start to end.

But my biggest complaint was that they didn't kill Davina. Not because I dislike her or anything, but just because it would have been funny.

I am assuming that there's going to to be a long running story on who Ruby's biological mum is (why didn't the Doctor look :x ). And who was the old lady outside who knew what a Tardis was? Just a joke at the audience, or is she going to be important?

Ncuti is great and Ruby shows promise, but I really don't get on with the tone and structure of a lot of RTDs stuff - the episode itself was just a mess sadly. There was a decent core premise there but it was executed really poorly.

Yeah this is always a fun game, we pegged it as Clifton pretty quickly! A lot of the opening sections were the centre of Cardiff as well

The camera seemed to hang on the "CV" sign for ages, I was genuinely thrown for a second thinking it was actually set in Bristol and I'd misheard the earlier "London is expensive, who'd move there" line.

What did people think of the trailer for the next series? the Beatles episode is going to be completely lost on me. Though I think the rumours that Jonathan grof is playing captain jack just got some weight to them

I thought Ncuti was good. The plot itself was OK but the writing wasn't great. It's early days but I'd hate to see Ncuti's run spoiled by bad writing. Ruby seems a pretty mid-tier companion, hopefully she'll improve in future episodes.

So Mrs Flood is absolutely going to be The Master isn't she?

I actually think
That she is going to be The Rani.... partly because Ncuti has apparently said that he would love to see and be involved in the return of The Rani.... , I would love it to be The Rani or The Medding Monk, or basically any other character than The Master, I want the Master back at some point but I want to see other characters return first

Also any time a new character like this appears the fandom is obliged to assume that it's The Rani

If only there'd been another character who had multiple water-based names in the past

Seems unlike they would bring back Lake McOcean.

All the recent specials were great. Want more of it already but I guess this gives me time to catch up everything. I started watching classic who a few weeks back and I'm up the third doctor era now.

Caught up with Church on Ruby Road last night. Enjoyed it. Always good to get a little bottle episode to show off a new Doctor and companion before they jump into a story arc. Ruby is a bit boring thus far but more than happy to give her time. Actually think her mum (and nan ) are more interesting personally.

I thought Ruby was decent, but I fully agree that her nan should get her own series where she desperately searches for a cup of tea while flirting with much younger men.

I just watched The Church on Ruby Road.

It was okay. I'm never too much of a fan of first episodes of a new Doctor; it often feels like things are a bit too "wacky". The plot seemed all over the place and I think it might take a while for the show to settle. The new actors seemed decent although, as ever, the storylines and lines are what will really make it. I do have a concern that the influx of Disney money could mean that special effects have more focus than storylines.

I'll go with [5] whilst hoping that the potential of the fresh start really develops.

Fake edit: Dang! I hadn't realised that Series 15 won't release until "2025"! I'd thought that the Christmas episode was the launch and we'd be straight into it!

Series 14 starts in May this year so practically straight into it

Ah! Right! I was thinking that we'd have to wait until sometime next year to watch a new series!

Great stuff :-).

Finally got round to The Church on Ruby Road. I saw the three specials, and thought I’d watch the first proper new Doctor ep, but I don’t intend getting back into regular viewing.

It was pretty good. The goblin song might have been amusing as an extra, but felt awkward in the episode. The flat seemed absurdly large.

I wonder how many people didn’t realise that the old woman was Anita Dobson.
