Went back to Frogun to try out the levels that's now accessible that I've beaten the main game back in January, and yeah its quite tricky that it took me while to beat first level... deffo rusty with the game already, plus the fact I'm playing it on PC rather than my deck so may take while for me to click. I like the game but it has lot of annoying things that stop it from amazing game. Still very solid PS1-style platformer, if flawed.

Also gave Pizza Tower a try finally and I'm liking it, although it's bit too fast for me. Just doing few levels each session at the moment, don't think I'll go for all S(+) ranks or achievements but I can see myself playing it off and on. The artstyle is great too.

Like a Dragon - Infinite Wealth - PS5 - just started chapter 8, massively over leveled and with one level 50 amazing weapon. Really relaxing game to play, love exploring and collecting.

Wish my image sig would work

Immortals: Fenyx Rising - PC

The Ubisoft Game(TM) but under the design influence of Zelda breath of the wild and telling a tale based on greek mythology. It has had some genuinely funny moments from the bickering narrators of Prometheus and Zeus amongst other things, but other than that its very much the template we all know and love.

Running it on my upgraded pc over steam link and looks good, plays responsively even if the visual bitrate does dip every now and then but then it is coming wirelessly from my pc 2 floors up (my child-friendly invisible technology setup) so is quite impressive nonetheless.

Stellaris

I haven't played in a few years and the game has gone through another revamp. I'm mainly playing to try and beat the end game crisis because I haven't done it before. I had a tough start as I relearn the game, then the game drags out a bit as my federation keeps dragging me into wars we can't win, and then my PC starts to struggle in the late game (probably from all the new systems). End game crisis finally spawns but does so in an enemy system that hosts all his fleets. Immediately ends the End game crisis.

All weekend played and it doesn't even really count. On Ironman mode so can't even reload an old save to see it out differently.

I played it for at least 200 hours a few years ago and never once saw the endgame stuff.

I love the idea of 4x strategy games but I'm terrible at most of them.

I still have vanilla Stellaris to start but it's finding the time when I have so many other games in my backlog. I spent 30 hours learning the very basics of Hearts of Iron IV last year and I barely scratched the surface. Would love to play more of that as well.

I don't own HOI4 but it is one I want to get into.

Stellaris is funny as every race I've ever created spawns into new games. So in mine I was in the Psyduck federation but the Pikachu/Slippy Toads were in another and, led by Pikachu, vasselised Watto (Star Wars Ep1, likes slavery) and broke the Psyducks in two (on theme) so OG Psyducks and new Psyducks were in a perpetual war that I got dragged into. Oh, and Groot kept picking fights with, and losing to, the Fallen Empires.

Anyway, toying with another playthrough or starting Spiderman Miles Morales.

Nearing the end of Darksiders and I'm playing ALttP on the side, which I'm also nearly done with.

Portable gaming is fitting in with my life a bit better at the moment. It's very hard to get the time to sit down and play a console game.

Finished Darksiders yesterday so started Watch Dogs 2. This is very ubisoft so far. I heard its a bit of a sleeper hit so I hope it gets good.

I've been playing Dead Island 2 and been having fun until now.

I'm at level 11 and suddenly everything is 1 shotting me as the enemies level with you.
It feels like the exact opposite of my character getting stronger over time.
Even the standard zombies that just endlessly spawn do massive damage and my weapons feel weak as gooseberry fool.

The fact that the game restarts you in random locations on death is also frustrating as strawberry float.

I'd like to carry on but the game feels like it's actively trying to make me stop.

I started this yesterday and put about 6 hours in. I’m at about level 9, so similar to you, and now I am concerned about what awaits me. Up to this point it has felt really well balanced.

The endlessly respawning zombies just makes getting around frustrating and tiresome.
All you want to do is get to a safe zone or crafting station and you can get swarmed with runners who seem to be as quick as I am and hit like trucks.

It also feels no different fighting the same enemies in the starting zone as it did when I first started the game so the feeling of progression is zero.

I’m actually quite enjoying it. It’s not the most in-depth game, but I am still finding it satisfying enough.

It doesn't help that as usual I suck at the combat.
The game is good enough and the graphics are really good I just don't enjoy level scaling.

The graphics probably have kept me invested a bit more than I may otherwise have been.

I’m not a big fan of level scaling generally, but I have found the combat pretty well balanced so far (just hit level 13 I think).

Batman Arkham City (PS5)
Enjoying this a lot more than I did Asylum. Everything just seems improved and the graphics still hold up well. It does seem a bit easier than Asylum, prob as I'm used to the fighting etc. Think I'm about 3/4 through the story now.

(Dead Island 2) - Despite not experiencing the difficulty spike you mentioned (made it to level 16), the repetition and auto levelling did drain my enthusiasm for this game after 12 hours or so. It would appear I am 3/4 of the way through, but I really can't be arsed to plan any further.

Anyway, I have now started Deus Ex Human Revolution, as somehow I never played this or the sequel. Only a couple of hours in so far but I am 100% invested.

I picked up a Steam Deck code for £3 and it runs at 60fps 1080p with everything maxed out.

Slowly making my way through Red Dead Redemption on the Switch, still holds up really well, enough content in there without feeling overwhelmed by a mp full of icons as well. Not sure if I'll be going for 100% like I did when I first played it on the PS3, but I have Undead Nightmare to play for the first time as well thanks to that being included on this version of the game.

Blimey, this Deus Ex Human Revolution is a bit good isn’t it?

I hated immersive sims such as Dishonored and Prey, but this has elements of the same genre and is absolutely fantastic.

Perhaps it’s just further evidence that Arkane can’t make games that feel good to play.

and now I wait…
