After disappointment of V's singleplayer I thought about giving 4 a try (saw it for £4.99 at store) and I'm really liking it. The singleplayer while not amazing as first & second games still has nice chuck of content for singleplayer.
Do like online mode on Soul Calibur V though so whenever I fancy MP session I'll boot up SCV while I play through SCIV for singleplayer content.

After the original MGS, MGS3 is the best in the series. Much better than 2 and 4.
MGS2 did go kinda mental towards the end but I still preferred it to MGS3. I adored the settings. That said, I can see why someone would think differently, because they're both great games.
I really hope MGSV brings the series back on form.
Fable Anniversary arrived today and so far I pretty much agree with Eurogamer's review so far. It's not to say I'm disappointed in it, because it's still great game - just felt it could've been bit more, but oh well. Going to enjoy doing stuff in Fable 1 world once again

Exactly what more would you have expected from a remake of an old game?
I'm currently working my way (slowly) through Killzone:Shadow Fall and Dead Rising 3.
Killzone I like....now. It took me a little while to get it though. In fact, I played it once back at Christmas, then turned it off and didn't really touch the PS4 again 'till recently. Going back to it, though, and I can see it's strengths, and they are the same as the previous Killzone games. It's a bit slower than other FPS's for the most part, which is to its credit in my view, and the controls are just different enough to give it a unique feel and a sense of learning something new as you play. It's pretty tricky (I'm playing on normal), I'd say, and I seem to die more often in this than in other similar games, which is no bad thing really. The story....isn't amazing but as a device to hang a game on it's perfectly serviceable and lends itself adequately to what are some spectacular settings; the game does look fantastic and has got enough of a 'next gen' edge about it to make it stand out. I suspect the sound would be excellent too but regrettably, in the process of moving house recently, my beautiful AV receiver became damaged so I am currently playing without surround sound for the first time in many years. It makes such a big difference to the game experience. Anyway, that's by the by. Enjoying the game a lot at the moment, and I hope it builds to some sort of satisfactory conclusion.
Dead Rising 3 is also a game which does a decent job of demonstrating some 'next gen' chops. The graphics here are also very good, not so much in the 'ooh, pretty' sense, but in the sheer amount of stuff happening all at once. It's a load of fun, but I have to admit that now I can only play it in pretty short bursts as it has become somewhat repetitive. That's fine, I don't tend to be able to play in great long sittings anymore, and it works fine as it has a fairly clear episodic game structure with regular saves, but I'm not convinced it's designed to be played in that way, although perhaps I'm doing the designers a disservice with that assumption. Anyway, it's very good and well worth a play through if you haven't already. Oh, and I haven't seen, or at least noticed, any slow-down or anything. It all runs very smoothly. I'm enjoying this one, too.
Alongside the likes of Assassin's Creed, FIFA, Forza and so on, it's not been a bad start to the new consoles at all. They're very good.
I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

Fix the animations up a bit; they just felt stiffy. That, and the faces on people doesn't look right at all in my opinion.
Beyond is one of the worst high-profile games of the generation.
Anyway: Brothers- Haven't clicked with it really. It's fine, but I wouldn't say I'm enjoying it particularly. The Unfinised Swan- Did the first chapter, but had to turn it off. Felt like a project by a pretentious art student, was really bored. DmC- I quite liked the presentation, and it seemed solid enough, but the actual gameplay left me cold. Did the opening level and a half, but don't really have and desire to go back to it. Bioshock Infinite- After loading this my PS3 started to sound like a plane taking off, so just switched to something else. Castle of Illusion- Now this I do like. I'm a sucker for these 2D platformers, but this has really surprised me so far. Only done the first couple of worlds, but looking forward to getting stuck into it this weekend.
In the ideal world my fiancé would enjoy videogames, but as it is she is just indifferent to them. I'll take that over her hating them. She understands my hobby/addiction just doesn't participate...
Played a bit of Killing Floor with my brother tonight and I don't understand the appeal. It's just a costant horde mode with no challenge at all. I don't know if we just kept picking easy servers or something but it was just a walk in the park for every level, no challenge and not much fun.

Yeah that's better than having other half who genuinely hates it. I think I'd be happy to settle one who's like that rather than go out with videogaming-hating person (since it'd annoy me if I have to put up with that talk lol)
