Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate (Vita)

Over 85% done apparently - 3 bosses down and now hunting down the 5 hostages with bombs attached to them on a timer. then the final boss fight presumably

It's become a chore at times trying to find the correct path to the relevant destination. So much to'ing and fro'ing and despite the map I still took 40 mins last night trying to find the Exercise Yard to confront Penguin  :fp:

Determined to finish this but strawberry float me it's started to outlive it's welcome somewhat now.

Also been playing Lego Star Wars The complete saga on 360 with my 5 yr old. Just finished Episode III so exactly half way now. Loving it (especially Yoda's slow walk with his walking stick)

Started the Witcher 2. I really like it although the combat and abilities take a little getting used to. You can tell it was originally a PC game as it's crying out for a mouse and keyboard. Nevertheless, so far, so good.

Blue Dragon

Why do they always have to make the characters so annoying and whiny in RPGs? It's so irritating when you're generally enjoying the game, but you get these retarded characters whinging and moaning in every cut scene.

Feels like I'm blitzing through it all though, about 22 hours now - the game's piss-easy.

I thought the game just felt very slow. I gave up on before the 22 hour mark, I think. It was just so bland - from the characters, to the story, to the graphics. It might have been alright when it was the only next-gen RPG out (it came out in 2006, I think), but it's just a relic now, really.

I thought the battle system was okay, mind.

Aye, it's probably a 6/10 in my mind at the moment. As I think I've said in previous comments, it's very by-the-book in terms of JRPGs, and doesn't really have any great ideas (although I do quite like the shadow element of it).

I've got it on PC and genuinely prefer to play it with a controller. I've tried both and genuinely think it works better like that.

That's surprising to hear. Anyway, I've got to grips with the controls now and the story is now moving along nicely. Quickly becoming one of my games of the generation.

Just started Binary Domain yesterday. Was playing Dark Souls but currently considering whether to give up on it as it is just becoming frustrating, only 2 options seem available with both ending with me dieing. It wouldn't be so bad if when I restart I could just get on with the bit I died at again, but typically it means having to trudge back to where I died but before doing that, earning enough souls to restock cross bow bolts. So "fun" has become "chore".

He'd rather play something more instantly gratifying. No problems with that.

Maybe I'm just gooseberry fool at the game. I'm about level 48 and put 30 odd hours into the game so far and feel I should be at the point where although challenges will be difficult, I shouldn't have to repeat them several times to progress. On the subject of instantly gratifying, I've picked up more trophies in Binary Domain in less than 2 hours than all of the time spent so far on Dark Souls. :fp:

Started playing Arkham Origins this weekend. It's better than I'd hoped, particularly enjoying the young, angry, inexperienced Bruce.

I find that it's dependant on mood. Sometimes you just want to play games to relax a bit. Other times you want to feel challenged. There's nothing wrong with that.

I must get around to playing Dark Souls anyway, I've had it on my backlog for over a year. Seems like I might get on with it

Are you summoning people? Whole game is much easier when engaged in jolly cooperation.

How does Blackgate compare to games like Castlevania/Metroid/Shadow Complex? Is it very similar with a lot of depth and a huge world? I get the impression that it's very basic and minimal? Does it feel like a lot of work has gone into it? I love Batman so want to get it eventually but I'm hoping it's better than just a lazy tie-in to Origins.

No. I did think about this, but how likely is someone to drop in? Typically I don't play signed in for fear of some bastard coming in and killing me :(

FC Blood Dragon

They need to do a FC game that's nothing but collecting gooseberry fool, hunting aminals and taking over garrisons.

So much fun.
