The map that came with the boxed game is much more helpful than it first looks.

Trying to get allthe the star coins on NSMB Wii U - and it is infuriating.

Too many of the levels - especially the later ones, and pretty much all of the Peach's Castle levels - really on the gimmick of having "an ever-present threat" just bombarding you throughout the level.

It isn't really innovation or invention, and often just takes the form of something falling from the sky, or rising lava. As I said, the Peach's Castle levels either have meteors falling down or lava rising. That's it. That's all there is too them.

Daxter (PSP Go)

Its a solid platformer thats a definite step down from Jak & Daxter but its still enjoyable. Its lovely on the Go tthough. I know I am in a minority saying this but I think the Go might be my favourite handheld of the last few years. An awful lot of the issues surrounding its launch made it a dud but its a fantastic device to use.

Still playing through Dark Souls (and no doubt will be for several more months). Just defeated the dragon thing in the Depths last night. Looks like I'll have to go back to Blight Town to fight the spider thing next, which badly kicked my arse last time so may need to read up on weaknesses first. :shifty:

Yes?

So I tried out Far Cry 3 on PS3 since it was free. The framerate :dread: It must be running sub-25 most of the time and even worse when there's any kind of action. It's like watching a stop motion animation. It actually gave me a strawberry floating headache. I can't continue playing this. I hope Blood Dragon isn't this badly optimized because I really DO want to play that.

Jak 2. By crikey this is a poor sequel. I'm not very far in but so far it's not been very good.

Persona 4 golden. It's my feel good game I've had ongoing for awhile, got back to it when I need a pick up. The golden version has plentiful additions to the original game so it's not just a nostalgic replay of a favourite but also something fresh.

Far Cry Blood Dragon. Holy strawberry float this is incredible. I almost feel bad for only spending €2.50 on it. The most fun I've had playing a game in years. And Michael Biehn is the strawberry floating man  And the strawberry floating soundtrack! It's like all my favourite 80s action movies in one package. The Terminator riff is fairly obvious but I'm sure I heard snippets from Robocop and The Thing at various points as well.

This game

Don't read if you haven't completed the dam mission  Darling's dialogue after the dam mission  I've been doing nothing but taking over garrisons after the dam mission and so every time I start the game she gives the same speech. I must have heard it ten times now and it still makes me chuckle.

I've given up on Jak II for now, I feel like there's a good platform game in there somewhere buried under an identity crisis between a half arsed sandbox game and a half arsed shooter. I'll come back to it in a while.

Anyway started Remember Me last night and I'm liking it thus far. I like the memory remix mechanic especially the whole memory bug concept.

Shame the controls aren't suitable for me to play the damn thing.

I'm glad it cost me less than a fiver to find out.

Now I've finished Ghosts and Saints IV I'm jumping in and out of Mass Effect 2. However, I'm definitely starting The Witcher 2 tonight.

Shadow Warrior (the new one)

Quite enjoying this - the first-person swordplay is pretty good, slicing and dicing demons with cool powers and well-aimed sword strokes is ace. The visual splendor of the first area kind of disappears as I'm now in a generic industrial environment, but there are lots of little nods to the original game, as well as lots of hidden stuff, dotted around.
