I've just spunked £20 on an annual NYT sub as I always do the mini and then get annoyed when Spelling Bee kicks me out after 2 guesses. Just need to remember to cancel in a year.

I suspected I knew the category for purple, but just couldn't make the connection with Tracy. Dick Tracy right? I know I tried Heat first. Guess I fell for a red herring.
