I'm interested to hear the opinions on Fantastic Four. GAF says it has some more of that classic terrible Robinson dialogue.

Haven't read it yet but every recent issue has made it look more and more likely there's going to be a massive timeline reset.

Marvel’s New Captain America To Be A Black Teenage Female Immigrant From Africa? SPOILERS…

I thought an odd amount of focus was placed on that panel as well. Would be an odd choice for sure. Oh and Thor :( :(

Wolverine and the X-Men #42 was quality as well, lovely send off. That final page teaser of the new book made me seriously rethink about not adding it to my pull list. Apocalypse vs Phoenix Quentin

Yeah, massive timeline reset is obviously happening. It was a gimme as soon as Kang was involved.

Capt got strawberry floating owned

It wasn't as bad as Earth 2, but some bits were a bit :dread:

So… Who Is The Woman Writing David Finch’s Wonder Woman?

It's his wife :dread: are DC that desperate to keep him?

From the spoilers I read on CBR not much-

Kitty uses Pym particles to grow big and punch Galactus around which shouldn't be possible considering he's not a giant purple guy that's just what people see him as.

Reed creates a portal to the Negative Zone to trap Galactus in and does. Thor sacrifices himself to keep Galactus from escaping the portal.

The End.

They fudged the first bit

She was using her intangibility to mess with his machines/electronics, so maybe she could have disrupted him?

But yeah the plan was to use Kitty to distract him, then throw him into the negative zone where there's only Antimatter, so he'll starve.

Thor gets stuck in the negative zone, but other than that no one else dies this week I think

Oh and it look like Storm is going to be Captain America

More on this news

DC Entertainment will launch a new, unnamed weekly series in October 2014, DC Co-Publisher Dan DiDio revealed to Newsarama. The weekly series will be the third weekly from the publisher this year, following April's launch of Batman Eternal and May's The New 52: Futures End .

Although DC would not confirm how long the new October weekly is planned to continue, all three of the company's 2014 weekly series will be running concurrently after October's launch of the new comic.

To me that reads that if you're getting say Eternal, after the October event you'll need to pick up all 3 of the weekly books. :dread: :dread:

Thing is I like the idea of Future's End and the creative team attached, it's just that if I'm not picking up any other DC books like Justice League it feels a bit pointless. Because all the main story stuff with lead into Justice League or the new Lemire JL title.

In the interview, DiDio implied that the 12 (or more) weekly issues that would ship every month after October would, in theory, replace what would normally be 12 monthly titles. He said the three weekly series would not be added to the approximately 52 titles that DC publishes every month, but would be counted as part of their normal monthly line.

That's actually pretty sensible of DC. The New 52 has had some utter shite that barely last 10 issues, and every "wave" has been full of cancellations. Trim the gooseberry fool, fill it with weeklies, profit?

No way am I picking up 3 weeklies though. I just hope it doesn't affect Eternal too much and I can just read that and Batman.

"Uncanny Avengers" #17 contained some major events -- "major" as in, Captain America dying and the Earth breaking apart -- but for a book that was billed as a flagship when it launched, readers haven't seen it touched upon elsewhere. Will the impact of "Uncanny Avengers" soon be seen in the rest of the Marvel books?

Alonso: Yes. The relevance of "Uncanny Avengers" to the Marvel Universe will become very apparent in 2014. Rick has lit the fuse for a big explosion.

Rick Remender is known as a long-term planner -- was it always the plan for "Uncanny Avengers" to build within itself before spilling out to the rest of the Marvel Universe?

Alonso: You nailed it. Rick is a long-term planner. His best stories… ripen.

Possible link in with Original Sin? The original rumours for this years event were that both Aaron and Remender were involved.

My copy of Infinity turned up today. The paper used is too thin which leads to the book not sitting flat/wavyness of pages but overall it doesn't detract from the read. I suppose it comes down to how much you're offended by sub-par paper quality personally it doesn't bother me because you forget about it when you're actually reading what's on those pages. I'd say pick it up but don't pay any more than £35 for it.

Edit: I got quite a haul today.

Infinity HC
Zero Vol 1
Sheltered Vol 1
Red Sonja Vol 1
Uncanny X Men Vol 2
Thor God of Thunder Vol 2

A good day for comics in my household!
