Buying the invisibles omnibus might not have been a good idea, the thing's so thick and heavy it's hard to read

So AMC is making a pilot for Preacher.

I'd love to see how it turns out. It'll work much better as a TV series than a film but I do wonder how much it'll get toned down. Then again Banshee has some similarities to the Salvation arc and that was pretty brutal at times.

Preracher was the first non-superhero comic I ever read. I'd love to see it done with the same care and attention as something like The Walking Dead/Breaking Bad. But it could go either way.

Can't wait for Sex Criminals 3. I haven't laughed at a comic that much in years.

Anyone going to Thought Bubble this weekend?

Yeah they cheap out on the bindings for a lot of omnibuses.

Top 100 published Marvel characters quiz(might be slightly out of date). I got 75 and missed some really obvious ones like Professor X. :slol:

60/100

A load of the ones I tried were too obscure which is my excuse. I was going to try Moira McTaggart but thought if Bullseye wasn't on the list she wouldn't be. Couldn't remember Wonder Man's name but who can? He's very forgettable. I probably should have got Jameson though.

I forgot his real name too but I couldn't even remember the name "Wonder Man". I could see the big W on his costume.

Got 56/100 on the DC quiz but they're counting Looney Tunes characters and Fred Flintstone in the list of most published DC characters. Dick Grayson is apparently the third most publised DC character according to this list.

I didn't even think of Bullseye. Probably for the best, would have saved me retyping it in disbelief.

Yep, really looking forward to it, especially now they've added a third hall. Have you been before?

I'll be at Thought Bubble again. It's a shame that both Skottie Young and Francesco Francavilla have dropped out from the event. There's still some great talent, but both of those would have been on my list.

Mondo (screen printed posters) presence better not strawberry float up the nice atmosphere of TB, it's been awesome for the last few years and I don't want to see it going the way of US cons.

Last year was my first. Pretty much the best weekend I had all of 2012. Ridiculously good fun. Great atmosphere as well.

Skottie Young was doing some signings in September to make up for this (I think that was the reason). Still got the like of David Aja, Fiona Staples and Fraction and De Konnick appearing.

No pro pass/table for me this year, but still going. Will also totally be spazzing out at being in close proximity to several of my idols, mind.

EXCLUSIVE: REMENDER & MCNIVEN'S "UNCANNY AVENGERS" UNITES - OR UNTIES - TIME & SPACE

In a CBR exclusive first look at Marvel Comics' "Uncanny Avengers" #14 by Rick Remender and incoming artist Steve McNiven, Kang the conquerer does more than travel through time -- he appears to be uniting some of the far-flung future stories of the Marvel Universe as Remender looks to set up his next big arc -- and possibly tee up the rest of the Marvel U for the next year.

In the preview, Kang travels to:

3806, where he gathers Stryfe amidst the Mutant Liberation Front
2033, where May Parker, the "Earth X" version of Venom, is about to be sucked in to the vortex
2099 to pick up that era's Doom
2020 for Arno Stark, the Iron Man of that era
2014 to pick up Ahab
2043 to enlist Elizabeth Braddock of the future
2055 to get a Deathlok Abomination.

Each of these eras relate to either a past story of Remender's or recall another major plot point from the extended Marvel Universe. 2043 is the same era Remender's "Uncanny X-Force" traveled to during "Final Execution", 2055 recalls both Remender's "Deathlok Nation" arc of "Uncanny X-Force" and his "Secret Avengers" run. We've already seen the 2099 Universe pop up in modern comics thanks to Dan Slott's most recent "Superior Spider-Man" arc, and Arno Stark was just introduced as Tony's long-lost brother in Kieron Gillen's "Iron Man." It's also already been confirmed that Stryfe is the main antagonist for the "Uncanny X-Force"/"Cable and X-Force" crossover, "Vendetta."

However, that does still leave a few outliers: why go to 2014 -- which is mere months away in real-time? And is Remender really planning to fully integrate the "Earth X" reality into the 616? And those are just the questions and observations we have after reading the first four pages of "Uncanny Avengers" #14!

Kang: "Bendis has ruined things, come with me"

I assumed it was because of the Apocalypse twins changing history but I guess it could be Age of Ultron related.
