I actually found a box of mince pies in the cupboard from last year (so went out of date early this year), decided to try my luck and bought some double cream to have with them. Safe to say the mincemeat was fine, but the pastry had definitely suffered :( think the rest will have to go in the bin.

I’ve definitely not been listening to Heart Christmas the past couple of days….. :shifty:

Local shop had a little Christmas stand at the end of one of the shelves. Got a Christmas jaffa cake box, mince pies and chocolates.

It's happening :toot:

Went to Bourton on the Water for a wander the other day, picked up a new tree decoration from a Christmas shop there.

It's so busy though. Even on a Monday morning in October. Just tourists taking photos everywhere.

Usually we get there, realise how absurdly crammed it is, and give up and go to Stow on the Wold or somewhere else nearby instead.

The omnipresence of Halloween over here acts as a breakwater for Christmas. I don't hate it, November seems like a decent start point for the festivities.

Had two brandy mince pies from cooplands bakery today.Highly recommended, I'd rate cafe Nero as the gold standard but M and S is also very good.

Wish my image sig would work

Mince pies :datass:

I've managed to pick up an illness from last weekend which has ruined this week's plans. Supposed to be going out to a gig tonight so we can't go, in-laws were coming over tomorrow so we could all go out for my birthday weekend, so now they're not coming over and we're not going out.

Upshot is my wife has decided to do a full Christmas day on Saturday, where we stay in all day doing what we'd do on that day, which includes a full Christmas dinner :datass: :datass: :datass:

And then Sunday the leftover Christmas dinner gets made in to a pie :datass: :datass: :datass:

I know how much you love Oasis and thought you might be going to see the superior version.

Oh yeah :toot:

Usually get a cheese advent calendar so hopefully I'll be able to get one this year.

I ordered some Christmas themed stouts last night, should be here late November.
