Yeah, that was one of the best episodes of the series. Fantastic scenes with Capone and some great back forth between Margaret and Nucky. The flashbacks have been really enjoyable and I say that as someone who usually finds Nucky to be one of less interesting characters on the show.

God damn! Another great episode. Twists and turns all over the strawberry floating place. Eli and Van Alden are amazing. I would watch an entire show of just those two. And holy strawberry float, the guy they got to play young adult Nucky's in the flashbacks does a damn near perfect Steve Buscemi impression!

Can't believe there's only 3 episodes left. Feels like the season is just heating up.

Young Nucky in 5x05 has to be Buscemi's son right? They look identical.

Every time he was on screen I was distracted by his teeth.

strawberry float!

strawberry float!

strawberry float!!!!!!!!!

Well that was quite something this week. Goddamn. Poor Chalky. His entire story is so sad. Love that his final act was ensuring the woman he loved would have a life. That was a beautiful final scene.

And then Van Alden  The fact that he went out in full psycho mode was so fitting. These Capone scenes are getting more tense by the week.

2 incredible characters and actors departing in one week. Damn!

Also, there may as well be a flashing neon "Tommy Darnody" sign above that young guys head who Mickey got working for Nucky's. They're not even trying to be subtle about it anymore.

Michael Kenneth Williams is just incredible at delivering these great lines.

Yeah, I agree. I think the more muted and less bombastic approach was the right one.

I thought it was wonderfully done. The rest of his story this season before meeting Nucky, less so; just what exactly was the point of his on the run storyline? It seems now that the only reason he was in prison was to delay his revenge story to coincide with the time jump so that we'd actually see it and not miss out like we did with Rothstein.

But the way his story wrapped up was beautiful. I think it was always going to be a one way mission, and once he found Daughter he made the better choice, her life and the life of his child for his.

strawberry floating incredible penultimate episode, another of the best the show has ever done. I think that may have been Buscemi's best performance on the show also. The flashbacks finally started to relate to the present too. Suddenly the whole point of them is making sense. This season has been outstanding. Why has this wonderful show never hit the heights of other HBO series? It's as good if not better then the best it has to offer. Makes me sad :(

And speaking of which...finally Mickey Doyle runs out of luck :( And due to his big mouth! How apt! It's still amazing that he lasted to this point at all, let alone become Nucky's second in command. And the awesome bodyguard too. Another week of brutal casualties. strawberry float. That whole standoff was one of the best scenes the show's ever done. Luciano is such a banana split! And Bugsy! Most annoying human being on the planet  I guess there's only room for one so Mickey had to go. Also, looks like they fooled us all and the young kid has nothing at all to do with Jimmy  bastards.

Final episode ever ever ever ever next week.

It baffles me that it's never got the recognition it deserves.

It was another fantastic episode. I really like that the focal point of this season has been Nucky's trying to redeem himself rather simply surviving the war. I"m also glad the Gillian revenge conspiracy theory turned out to be misdirection.

I'll miss this show so much. :(

HBO put up a great little doc about the making of the show

The accents of almost all the actors compared to their characters!

Unfortunately Michael Pitt and Bobby Canavale didn't take part in the interviews :(

This season has been phenomenal. The casting on the flashbacks is strawberry floating insane. Nucky especially. I thought the latest episode really set things up nicely for the final one. I can't really decide what I want to happen.

Reading through this was a great reminder of how many amazing the moments the show has had over the years. I'm already looking forward to rewatching the whole thing, especially the first two seasons which I don't remember much of at this stage.

I can understand Michael Pitt not taking part considering the alleged firing.
