Why has TAP allowed people to vote for themselves?

I don't understand why that rule has been changed when it's always been a constant in every other game.

I mean, assuming people vote for themselves is a pretty fair assumption, tbh. So it shouldn't matter.

It isn't really an issue. From now on most people will just vote for themselves when they run for mayor. Falsey just exploited it this time.
