What if they both contain swords?

Then buy it and burn it after smashing it to smithereens.

I just noticed this has David Harbour in it. It's definitely on my 'interest piqued' list. I'd have to watch a let's play though (sad face).

Not all surprised, seeing as Alan Wake 2 moved to within two days of it. Nasty move.

I’m surprised Alan Wake hasn’t moved dates as well, I can’t see it fairing much better in October especially being digital only

I think they wanted it as close as possible to the spooky season.

It moved from the 17th to the 27th. Any later than that and it would kind of miss it's key date.

Yeah, I get they want it out for Halloween but I don't fancy it's chances being sandwiched inbetween the likes of Spider-Man 2, Super Mario Wonder and CoD MW3

FFS, delayed again. This time to 20 March. Supposedly to “avoid any potential crunch over the Christmas holidays”, which is admirable, so long as it’s not bullshit.

Picked this up at the weekend started it last night enjoying it so far, a little different to current horrors, graphically it’s a bit all over I think, the face models sometimes are good then a bit poor, but will see how it goes.

I couldn’t see another thread but realised no one replied here since 2023 so there might be..

Never played the original on PS1 but remember it being around back then

Forgot this had its own thread. Copy of what I said elsewhere last month:

rinks wrote:Alone in the Dark. Two chapters into Emily’s story, and enjoying it quite a lot. Combat isn’t the best (so run away!) and there are some glitches, but I don’t get how some of the review scores are so low. It’s not meant to be Resi 4, thank god! Nicely slow-paced, and absolutely dripping in atmosphere.

Chapter 5 now, which is presenting itself as the end… but I’m half expecting a big twist. Excellent story and gameplay.

The bad reviews were way off on this. Maybe they played Carnby’s story first (or only).

There’s a superb moment in chapter 4, where it switches to fixed-camera gameplay for a few minutes, like the originals, and Emily says how everything feels weird.

Since then, I finished the game as Emily, but have yet to play through as Carnby, so not sure how much things change. Overall, I liked it a lot. It's not a AAA release, and there are places where it could be more polished. But if you take it for what it is, there's a good game with an intriguing story and masses of atmosphere. Exactly what I wanted from it.
