I don't even like DC but something about the first DCEASED mini-series art does it for me. I got gifted the TPB in a foreign language, and not wanting to be rude, decided to buy the English one just so I could talk about it with the person who gifted it. And so I obviously learned more about the series, and then learned of the alternate covers  I now have the Inhuyk Lee covers and the ones by Mattina.

I just think they're neat.

I had no idea From Hell had a version other than the TPB! Found a bundled pack 10 single volumes in my local comic book store. Priced at a incredibly reasonable £25!! Would have picked it up if not for the customised GBA and JoJo's BA vol 2 ch 2. Will pick it up if it's still there in a few weeks.

Finished this last night. Except for the sequel bait elements, I really enjoyed it. Some cracking art and scenarios. My biggest gripe is they didn't let some of the blockbuster moments play out for longer.

DCeased was Tom Taylor right? His Injustice prequel comic was far better than it had any right to be.

It was, aye. Is the :dread: Injusticeprequel comic easily obtainable? (I'm thinking it may have been a game only bonus or something.)

Today I picked up Riddler Year One #3, From Hell 1-10 and Barry Windsor Smith's Monsters.
I almost bought a DCeased action figure :slol: But it was only Green Lantern and the monsterisation looked pretty half-hearted. Easy to pass on it.

The best way are the below two omnibuses:

https://www.speedyhen.com/Product/Tom-T ... 1/24470731

https://www.speedyhen.com/Product/Brian ... 2/25652302

At the time of writing Speedyhen only have one each. The art is a weak point but it's fun.

Taylor's ongoing Nightwing book is good too.

Omnibus?! TWO omnibus editions?! I was expecting a mini series :slol: Will add it to The List. Appreciate the recommendations. (I will buy them at some point, but I think there are more deserving purchases before them. The Invisibles omnibus is at the top of my list. Will see if I can find Nightwing TPBs at my local shop.)

That's just covering all the pre-Injustice 1 book. He did a separate series leading into the second game.

But yes there are a lot of better books you can buy. Any particular writers or characters you'd like recommendations for?

My local had these:

How complete a story would I get if I only bought Gods Among Us Year One Complete Edition? I'm not fussed about Injustice 2 as yet.

Any non-superhero recommendations you or anyone think are must reads are welcome. Superhero stuff is fine as well, but I already have a load of those to be getting on with.

I haven't read it in ages but I remember each year being a good chapter break. One of the best moments in the series is in year 2 if I recall.

I was going to do this then realised like 95% of the comics I known are technically superhero books. Even Morrison's Doom Patrol and Animal Man count.

Some of my favourite books:

Grant Morrison
Doom Patrol
Animal Man
All Star Superman

James Robinson
Starman Compendiums 1 and 2

Greg Rucka
Gotham Central

Tom King
Vision
Mr Miracle
Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow
The Human Target

Jonathan Hickman

Animal Man Omnibus and Dawn / House / Powers of X are already sat on my shelf. Doom Patrol and All-Star Superman are def future buys.

Holy gooseberry fool at Marvel Saga  That's gonna have to be read digitally.

While I do like Secret Warrirors, you could get away with just getting his Fantastic Four omnibuses, Avengers omnibuses and Secret Wars if you wanted physical copies.

I'll start at the beginning via digital and see how I like it. If I like it enough I'll end up buying physical editions anyway.

This is the way.

I read almost everything digitally, then if I really like it I pick up the nice omnibus or deluxe hardcover releases. A select few writers I really like, I'll buy their ongoing mini series in floppies. More as a signal to the publisher to say "more of this please!" than anything else.

Described as “The Wrestler meets Dragonball Z” and that is pretty much a spot on summary  really good so far though, great artwork as well.

Non-superhero comic book series I quite like:

Outcast by Robert Kirkman
Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughan
Saga by Brian K. Vaughan
